You have done the reviewing. These tips help you turn that preparation into a good score on the day itself.

The night before

  • Do a light review only. Skim your notes and your error notebook, and avoid learning new topics.
  • Prepare everything you need so you are not rushing in the morning.
  • Check the exam venue and time in your Notice of Admission and plan how to get there early.
  • Go to sleep on time.

What to bring

Follow the list in your official Notice of Admission, since requirements can differ. In general, prepare:

  • Your Notice of Admission (test permit).
  • A valid ID that meets the requirements stated in the notice.
  • The pens or pencils and other items the notice lists.
  • A bottle of water and a light snack if they are allowed, and clothing that is comfortable.

During the exam

  • Listen to the instructions and read the directions for each section carefully.
  • Scan the whole section first, answer the easy questions and mark the hard ones to come back to.
  • Do not spend too long on a single question. Time is shared across the whole test.
  • Fill in your answer sheet carefully and check that the number on the sheet matches the question.
  • If you must guess, remove the choices you know are wrong first.
  • Use any remaining time to re-check your answers.

Stay calm

Nervousness is normal. Breathe slowly, relax your shoulders and take things one question at a time. Remember that you have already practiced the question types many times in your reviewer.

After the exam

Results are released by the CSC through its official channels. Wait for the official announcement and avoid unofficial sources.
